During the 1st General Membership Meeting on 28 February 2024 at Marco Polo Ortigas, the Trustee and Chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee, Ms. Cristy Lacsamana, officially launched the 2024 Seach for Outstanding Contribution in Internal Auditing in the Philippines (SOCIA PH).
The SOCIA PH recognizes an individual’s exceptional impact, value-creation, influence, role, and involvement in internal auditing. It serves as a local vehicle for the regional search and recognition by the Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (ACIIA).
In 2018, the first recipient of the SOCIA PH was Mr. Leonardo Matignas Jr., former Partner and Chief Risk Officer of SGV & Co (a member practice of Ernst & Young). Mr. Matignas is also the 2007 President of IIA Philippines. As a SOCIA PH awardee, he was nominated for the SOCIA Asia-Pacific, which he won in 2019.
In 2019, the second recipient was a posthumous awardee in the person of Ms. Lilian Linsangan, Senior Advisor at Punongbayan & Araullo. She was also the 2003 President of IIA Philippines. Sadly, she passed away on 10 January 2019.
From 2020 to 2023, no one was conferred the SOCIA PH award due to the worldwide COVID19 pandemic. Thus, IIA Philippines is relaunching the SOCIA PH with the hope that someone will receive this prestigious award in 2024 at the Annual Convention in Boracay.
If you wish to nominate someone who has contributed to internal auditing, here are the qualifications:
- A Filipino citizen
- An IIAP Member in good standing/active status
- With a reasonable period spent in the field of internal auditing
- Compliant with The IIA Code of Ethics
- With good moral character and unassailable integrity
- Made an exceptional impact on the internal audit profession, the advancement of the profession, and the promotion of the mission, vision, and goals of IIA Philippines.
