On February 18, Marikina City Vice Mayor – Hon. Marion S. Andres, MD, officially inducted the 2022 Board of Trustees and Officers during the 1st General Membership Meeting, led by the Chairman & President of the Board, Mr. Ryan Gilbert Chua, a Consulting Partner and Business Consulting Leader in SGV & Co.

The 2022 incumbent Chairman & President has over 15-years of experience in information technology-related auditing, business process reengineering, and SOX 404/JSOX compliance for various industries. He is among the global topnotcher in The IIA’s CIA Examinations and was the fourth placer in the CPA Board Examination. Furthermore, Ryan extended his studies and completed the Executive Development Program of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, USA.

With Ryan’s  unparalleled expertise and achievements, the Institute is glad to have him penned this year’s guiding theme – A Resilient and Sustainable Future Through Innovation and Agility. “It’s been almost 2-years since we lived the new normal, and if we want to survive this new reality, we need to use our strongest weapon and the only constant in this world – CHANGE, which is the foundation for our theme for 2022,” he explains in the acceptance speech.

This revolutionary change comes in two parts: (1) The launch of the new IIA logo and its local affiliates and chapters across the globe, indicating the modernization of the IIA while recognizing its rich history and global reach. (2) IIA Philippines’ implementation of the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan aims to future-proof the organization to such disruptions and be a trusted partner in providing excellence in the internal audit profession.

Ryan ended his speed encouraging his fellow internal audit practitioners to maintain integrity, develop their skills through IIA-P’s programs and activities, and uphold and follow the code of ethics.
