The Institute of Internal Auditors: Philippines (IIA-P) has once again proven its ongoing commitment to adding value to its members, partner organizations, and other stakeholders through the recently held Internal Audit Awareness Month last May.
With the theme “IA Reset: Anticipate the Unthinkable,” the month-long celebration focused on the internal audit profession’s role within the different organizations that its members are a part of, with their relevance greatly emphasized even more owing to the ongoing pandemic. IIA-P offered various activities during the month such as #AskAnInternalAuditor, Webinars, collaborations with other professional organizations, member features, and games.
For the segment #AskAnInternalAuditor, we are thankful to have been joined by past leaders who serve as role models and mentors to aspiring movers in the discipline. These leaders shared their professional journeys, emphasizing the various stages in an individual’s career as an internal auditor. In addition, they went live on Facebook to answer questions fielded by members and provide insights on how best to face future challenges and succeed.

IIA-P continues building partnerships with other organizations to spread the value of internal audit. One of the new partnerships was with the Project Management Institute (PMI) Philippine Chapter wherein Mary Jane Rosales conducted a virtual special technical session on Internal Audit and its Value to Project Management in a special technical session with its members. This partnership was made possible by Mr. Emilio Tumbocon, PMI President, and Mr. Amador Racpan, IIAP Chairman. The success of this initiative went further than the IIAAM as another partnership event was scheduled the following month with the Philippine Society for Quality. Michael R. Roxas handled the session, and wherein he shared the value of internal auditors to quality management.
We featured members in action through #IAmSpoted and #IAmMe, both in a professional setting at home or work, and the different things they have done to reset and improve personal resilience. Thank you to Dang Hopilos, Red Tamayor, Anthony Velasco, and Jo Sanico for joining us in submitting an entry.
To keep members continuously engaged, trivia questions were released throughout the month, covering topics about the profession and IIA-P’s history.
This year’s celebration was made possible through our speakers, facilitators, moderators, the committee headed by board member Zaida Lazaro, the IIA-P secretariat headed by Eloisa Acosta, and the board of IIA-P.
The IIA-P is thankful to all the members who have shown their support to this year’s IA Awareness Month. Maraming Salamat Po!
