My fellow IIAP members,

It is with excitement that I greet each and every 2700+ members of the Institute of Internal Auditors Philippines a blessed 2019.

After celebrating the Institute’s 70 years of existence last year, your 2019 board of trustees continues this journey by starting the year with strategic planning for the next five years aligned with The IIA Global Strategic Plans 2019-2023. I am excited to share with you the new vision of the Institute:

“By 2023, IIA Philippines is the primary partner enabling the internal audit profession to be indispensable to governance, risk management and control, critical to enhancing organizational value.”

Inspired by this vision, this year’s theme will be “Collaboration, Innovation, and Duplication: Making Great Things Happen”. Together with the Institute’s global and local partners, parallel organizations, regulators, universities, NGOs, members, and staff, we aim to build new capacity making the organization and its members agile, capable of creating new ways of doing things.

As you may be aware, our Institute, like any other organization nowadays, is facing complex challenges but I am positive that with the collaborative and innovative mindset of internal auditors, we can make a quantum leap in performance. I, therefore, encourage all of you to contribute and participate in whatever capacity you can for our beloved Institute to realize its vision. To ascertain a financially healthy institute with responsive processes that exceed members’ satisfaction with capable and sustainable leadership to bring the Institute and the internal audit profession forward.

Imagine if every one of the 2700+ members will act on one innovative or collaborative initiative or idea, the board can duplicate itself and accomplish more than what we hope to achieve in 5-years. Collectively, we can make great things happen in 2019 and the years to come.
